Angelique A. Laster, Esquire
Angelique A. Laster, Esquire joined Meiselman Helfant & Wills, LLC, as an associate in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Laster served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the thirteen presiding judges of Maryland District Court for Montgomery County. While clerking, Ms. Laster experienced the courtroom from the perspective of the bench and honed indispensable legal research and writing skills.
Ms. Laster began her legal career early on. During her high school years, Ms. Laster interned at one of the top law firms in her hometown of Will County, Illinois, and participated in mock trials at conferences in Washington, D.C. Ms. Laster went on to earn a B.A. in Communications Arts & Sciences with a focus on the Rhetoric of Law from Penn State University. Ms. Laster studied abroad in Seville, Spain, where she attended the Universidad de Sevilla.
In 2018, Ms. Laster earned a J.D. from Howard University School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Laster served as Vice President of the Family Law Society and excelled in the year-long Child Welfare/Family Justice Clinic, representing parents in abuse and neglect cases appointed to the clinic by the Family Court Division of D.C. Superior Court. Subsequently, Ms. Laster gained a full-circle litigation experience by serving as a Summer Associate for the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia in the Family Services Division, which represents District of Columbia’s Child and Family Services Agency. Additionally, Ms. Laster clerked at two boutique law firms in Montgomery County, Maryland and the District of Columbia focusing on employment law matters.
Ms. Laster’s previous legal experiences give her the necessary skills to represent clients effectively with a client-centered approach while consistently producing quality work product.
Ms. Laster is a member of the Montgomery County Chapter, American Inn of Court (2020-21) and the Maryland State Bar Association.
Ms. Laster is the proud parent of one daughter.
